Bigpeaks is a large Store full of the latest Bikes and Watersports equipment. The Store is a modern glass walled building on the Linhay Business Park, which is less than a mile north of Ashburton, Devon. We are located right across the road from the new Ashburton Cookery School.
The Bigpeaks Store has its own large park, you are able to park right outside the store and then try that special bike on the roads of the estate. We are just off the A38, halfway between Plymouth and Exeter. The store is on the Dartmoor National Park and the 'National Cycle Route 272' runs right past the Store. The new Dartmoor Way cycle route comes through Ashburton too. In fact we are less than 4 miles away from Hay Tor, which regularly features on the Tour of Britain Cycle race.
First Superstore
Bigpeaks was the first superstore of its type in the UK. We specialise in the fast moving sports of the area; We stock Cycles, Kayaks, Surfboards and SUP’scatering for the type of sports that are found locally.
At the Bigpeaks Store you will find stocks of all the latest gear and some of the latest Bikes from many of the World’s leading manufacturers.
Shopping Experience
It is our belief that no Store is complete without an overall shopping experience, so at Bigpeaks you can have your cappuccino crafted by a Barista, you can relax in comfortable sofas and watch the large screens showing the latest Adrenalin Sports action. You can also stroll round the store learning about the latest gadgets which are on display. If you need to ask about any aspect of your sport, a friendly and knowledgeable member of our staff will be on hand to help!
You can select a few Bikes to try and then ride them in our car park outside the store. We find that trying a few bikes from competing manufacturers helps to narrow your buying decision and our staff are on hand to advise on fitting and set ups.
Community Giving
At Bigpeaks we seek to enrich community rather than extract from it. We have programs and policies in place to make sure that we are a contributing member of the local landscape.
Bigpeaks is firmly committed to donating labour, money, and merchandise in order to support various community initiatives throughout the year. For instance, this year we have helped local children’s events and races, donated prizes for the Ashburton skate park and the School and we have backed initiatives to protect animal life on Dartmoor.
Green Business
As part of being responsible citizens, we make a tremendous effort to reduce the use of fossil fuels, we use the latest led fitments in store and more than half of our staff ride in to work! We run responsible transport vehicles and recycle over 90% of our waste, we buy and sell used parts, and use local and eco-friendly products whenever possible. We refurbish bicycles and we give some of these away to worthy causes!
Balanced Staff
We aim to have a balanced staff that reflects our community and creates opportunities for employment within the community. We employ youngsters at weekends and holidays. We give enrichment week experiences regularly to 3 local schools in Totnes, Newton Abbot and here in Ashburton, Devon.
